We fronted up for the first game against Hills at Kersbrook with 21 players.
It was a great start out of the centre into the forward line, but that is were it stopped in the first quarter. The Hills were full of running and we couldnt get into the game. The backline were peppered with the ball being continually pushed forward and were constantly under pressure. The lads were all trying hard but werent able to apply enough pressure to Hills who continually pushed the ball forward. As the game wore on we were able to display some good passages of play but were unable to convert on the scoreboard.
The lads in the centre were trying hard and getting their hands on the ball, but were unable to push the ball forward. The lads in the backline continued to fight hard and repelled many attacks. we were unable to sustain any pressure on Hills and as a result couldnt convert.
Wattsy played well at Fullback and Dave and Vards were good across Halfback. Lincoln had a run with job on Pearcy and also provided good run.
Our next game is against Easts at home with a number of players due to play their first game of the season and hopefully we can get good numbers and have a great game.
Congratulations to all the new players on their first game and well done to all.
