Gawler travelled to Rosewater to play what is proving to be our neminis side. We started the game with 19 players and the first quarter proved to be a bit of an arm wrestle, with both teams hard at the ball, with Buzzy apparently landing on his hardest part, "His Head" Gawler had first use of a slight breeze but were behind at quarter time by a solidary point. The backline were under pressure a Rosewater were providing their forward with many opportunities due to their great running. Bish took some good marks and Col was everywhere. Rocket "rocked " up a bit late but was solid as usual where he hit the ground.

The second term saw Gawler kick 4 goals too two as we started to get the ball out of the centre with Ian Robottom getting on top providing Goody, Marshy and Hunty with first use of the ball. Burnsy kick a few goals and was getting involved in everything and Chris Palmer and Buzzy were providing good targets. We had a few boys who were starting to feel it by the end of the quarter and with only one interchange there was little respite so the lads had to soldier on. A vast difference from the huge bench the week before. The lads showed plenty of spirit and Palms, JJ and Crooky trying all they could from the bench to rotate the players around the ground.

The boys were under siege from the start of the third quarter, Goody as usual was in everything and CORGI on the wing was doing his best to provide run. Rosewater were full of run and had to much fitness for the boys. Rocket once again was in the thick of things at Fullback was ably supported by his fellow backmen. Unfortunately the shear weight of Rosewater numbers streaming down the ground was too much and we were outscored 6 goals (with one Super goal) to one goal.

The last quarter saw us score 2 goals to one super goal and Stan robbed again by Deano (umpire, thats 2 beers Deano) in the marking area. Burnsy was in everything on the forward line, and must stay of that left foot. Chris Knevitt turned up to give us some extra strength around the ground . This helped Chris Palmer and Ian Robottom but the deficit from the third quarter was to much and the boys went down by 24 points.

Overall it was a good effort by all who turned up. We need to get some more consistent numbers to the games as this will allow us to rotate the bench and continue to run out the games. So if you can get along it would be great and lets all have a bit of fun and a few beers and enjoy the day.

Will add some photos over the coming days.

Cheers
